Trekking in Himachal
Duration : 03 Nights / 04 Days
Destination : Manali - Beas Kund - Sollang Nallah - Manali
It is a popular short trek in the Himachal Pradesh and it meanders through some
of the beautiful landscapes of the region. This trek is suitable for those people
who are new to Himalayas. This trek starts from Manali which is considered to
be the base ground for a number of adventurous activities. This trek reaches
Beas Kund Lake, which is the origin of river Beas. The trek moves along the
Solang Nallah and a number of log bridges need to be crossed while negotiating
the rising and falling path. Beas Kund is favored by trekkers and mountaineers
as it often provides a base camp for a number of peaks which can be climbed
in this region. One of the popular peaks which can be approached from Beas Kund
is the Hanuman Tibba.
On reaching Beas Kund you see an igloo like stone hut, which covers the Beas
Kund and is which is the source of Beas River. The water out there is chilling
and crystal clear. The terrain out there is rocky with very less vegetation.
This is an ideal trekking and camping area. It is one of the most popular destinations
in Himachal Pradesh.

Day 01 : Manali – Solang Nallah (14 kms)
Trek starts along the right bank of Beas river through villages, green fields
and orchards with beautiful valleys, forests and mountain view to the famous
ski resort, Solang Nallah (2480 m). Overnight in tents.
Day 02 : Solang Nallah – Bakarthach (12 kms)
Trek through an alpine plateau, Dhundi (2480 m). Along the trek view glaciers
and snow capped peaks including the peaks of Indrasan (6221 m) & Deo Tibba
(6001 m). Overnight in tents at Bakarthach (3150 m).
Day 03 : Bakarthach – Beaskund - Bakarthach (12 kms)
Trek to the source of river Beas, Beaskund. Return to Dhundi for an overnight
stay in tents.
Day 04 : Bakarthach - Solang Nallah - Manali (12 kms)
Trek down to Solang Nallah and travel by car/ jeep to Manali. The trek ends
in Manali.
